Posted on 01/30/2020
The Division of Engineering is conducting a public outreach effort related to the FY 2021 Capital Improvement Program Re-Surfacing projects. As a part of their re-surfacing, Engineering is proposing to re-configure the lanes on the street segments listed below. The re-configurations may include new center two-way turn lanes, parking lanes, and/or bicycle lanes.

A public open house will be held February 6 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Benjamin Hooks Library. Surveys to collect public input are open and will close February 9 at 11:59 p.m. You can access them here.

FY 2021 CIP Re-Surfacing Projects with Proposed Lane Re-Configurations:

Coleman Road (Yale Road to Stage Road)
Kansas Street (1st Street to the I-55 Overpass)
Knight Arnold Road (Ashwood Road to Goodlett Road)
Mendenhall Road (McCrory Avenue to Summer Avenue)
Scheibler Road (Yale Road to Olds Avenue)
Whitney Road (Millington Road to Watkins Street)

The FY 2021 re-surfacing projects are tentatively scheduled for construction between fall 2020 and summer 2021. A map with these street segments as well as all street segments included on the FY 2021 CIP Re-Surfacing list can be found on the City’s Street Paving Schedule application.
