Memphis Ambassadors Program Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary
Posted on 05/19/2020
The Memphis Ambassadors Program (MAP) is proud to announce that June will mark the program’s 10th anniversary. In 2010, MAP was created with the mission to serve Memphis youth in a year-round enrichment program focusing on education, health, civic and social responsibility. Over the years, the program has served more than 5,000 youth through its innovative programming.
Under the leadership of Director Ike Griffith, Special Assistant for Youth Services, MAP has now expanded with two other enrichment programs. The Memphis Apprentice Program for 8th graders who are struggling academically by providing tutoring to help raise their GPA to a 2.5 or higher and “I AM INCLUDED,” which serves youth with disabilities with the necessary support to achieve a better quality of living.
Many former participants have graduated from college, served in the military, and worked in city government, local organizations, and companies such as International Paper and Boeing.  Some of the participants now own businesses.
